Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell studied and worked in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. While growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell is a well-known ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. As a speaker, Burrell is on the road to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne has said during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential for her.
