Ali was a hit in the world of television as well. Ali was a part of a number of TV shows including A Man Called Hawk and Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show and Getting By, Are You Afraid Of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood and Living Single. Ali's first big project was when she brought Ashley Banks to life on the cult TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the year 1990. The show was an enormous hit with Will Smith and Ali as its lead actors. It was among the top shows on NBC, ranking 12th in the most watched programs from 1990 to 1992. The show also received two Golden Globe nominations.
